Gone for Awhile01 Jul 2004 00:47 GMT67
I'm in the midst of a horrible financial crisis, and will be away from the
group for awhile.  Just can't deal with the stress.  It's also possible
that we'll lose internet access for July, so I may not be able to respond
to e-mail after this week.
No sugar added!?01 Jul 2004 00:13 GMT22
I was at a fair this past weekend.  Someone was selling "Sugar Free"
Fudge.  When I looked at the ingredients, I saw fructose at the head
of the list.  I imagined this might be sugar-free, but something to be
avoided.
Hoods Milk (Dairy Beverage)30 Jun 2004 22:58 GMT30
Bought 1/2 gallon of Hood's fat-free "milk".  A lot of extra
ingredients like thickeners you see in some ice cream products.  The
shake well before using advice was interesting.  Anyhow, it is just
fine in Total LC cereal.  Don't need a sweetner for this cereal.  But
Hamburger Log Roll30 Jun 2004 22:52 GMT1
I tried a delicious recipe today. I mixed raw hamburger beef in with some
seasonings, then spread it out flat. I then added a thin layer of tomato
sauce, a layer of ham and a sprinkling of grated cheese. I then rolled it up
log-style and cooked it for 45 minutes in the oven.
Vision improved on low-carb diet30 Jun 2004 22:50 GMT23
Vision Improved On Low-Carb Diet
My vision improved substantially on low carb diet (atkins).
Don't really care why it did or how it did it since I now plan on
staying on the low-carb diet for the rest of my life.
"High-protein diets linked to infertility"30 Jun 2004 22:07 GMT4
High-protein diets linked to infertility
Popular high-protein diets, such as Atkins, can hinder a woman's
ability to conceive, according to a study released Monday.

When I was here several weeks ago.30 Jun 2004 21:51 GMT18
The reason I left the group several weeks ago was not because someone asked
me to clarify to which post I was replying. It was because someone was rude
and snotty. There is someone I do not understand who enjoys slamming and
belittleing others. It seems some are not very friendly ...
What Are Your Favorite DaVinci Flavors?30 Jun 2004 20:32 GMT38
My favorite sugar-free DaVinci syrups depend a lot on what I'm using them
for:
In cream cheese, Toasted Marshmallow is amazing!
In Sue's chocolate omelette, I like raspberry or orange a lot.
What is Maltitol Syrop?30 Jun 2004 20:15 GMT8
I was looking at the info on the back of a Russell Stover Pecan
Delights bag and was wondering if Maltitol and Maltitol Syrop had the
same effect on your blood sugars. Theoretically, if 2 pieces have a
total of 19 carbs, and the fibre is 3, the Maltitol 9, the Maltitol
What is the healthiest BMI to maintain?30 Jun 2004 19:51 GMT27
Low carb suppresses your appetite to the degree that almost any
maintenance weight can be achieved.  Ideal BMI seems to be a
controversial issue.  For years A BMI of between 22 and 25 was
considered healthy however recently there have been studies that
As a physician I'm worried about those on low carb diets30 Jun 2004 19:09 GMT13
We doctors don't get much nutrition training in medical school. So when
my patients started coming to me on the Atkins Diet, I frankly didn't
know what to tell them.  Atkins' recommendations certainly seemed at
odds with what little I was taught.  So I decided to try to figure ...
atkins shake - yuck, how about u?30 Jun 2004 17:46 GMT9
i love the atkins shakes in a can, they are good and make me full, but
they are expensive.
so i bought the atkins shake at walmart in powder form, i think it was
their last brand, they may have a new one out.
Rec: Mexican Chicken & Rice30 Jun 2004 15:46 GMT14
I made this last night and it was fantastic.  Yummy! I converted it from
one of my pre-LC favorite recipes.  This is a hint for others who miss
casserole or one-pot type dishes that they already have recipes for:
substitutions still make great dishes!
Why do Kidneys take a hit on LC..30 Jun 2004 13:09 GMT25
...is it just because of the amount of work they have to do while eating a
diet relatively high in animal proteins and low on carbs...??
Reason I ask is because after being l/c for 6 months and losing the better
part of 80lbs so far, I had a few martinis on friday evening and then ...
Atkins 'may cut chances of pregnancy' 30 Jun 2004 09:26 GMT17
Good grief...why are these people so desperate?  K.
