I'd appreciate some advice from the resident experts ......
my calorie distribution over the last week has been:
62% fat
12% carb
Flax & low carb.30 Sep 2004 22:27 GMT19
I'm going to try the low-carb way again!  The reason why I had to stop
several times, was a problem with constipation.
I'm wondering how can I take 2 to 3 tblsp. a day of flax, without making
everything taste horrible.
Atkins vs deadly Trans-Fat 30 Sep 2004 21:58 GMT4
I just learned about how deadly Trans-Fat is.   Trans-Fat , also
known as Partially Hydroginated vegitable oil is worse than
smoking (per lots of studies).
Not only it can ruin your body with deadly diseases, it also gets you FAT.

I got a kick out of this Washington Post article.
I'm appending the article instead of the link because the Post requires a

Low Carb Relationships30 Sep 2004 14:32 GMT49
In looking for a possible girl friend, I often felt it was important that
she have the right religion and ethnic background.  Now, my top priority is
that she lives low carb.
Has anyone on here been divorced after low carb vs. low fat fights?
BMI30 Sep 2004 11:20 GMT4
Lot of talk about BMI.  I don't quite get it really.  I looked at a chart at
my club yesterday and I saw that my weight should be between 140-190.  I am
6'2".  Not sure if I was reading the chart correctly?  I didn't see a
separate chart for women and men, but I suspect there may be ...
Exhaustion, and budging the last 15 pounds30 Sep 2004 05:12 GMT10
1. Is anyone here "at goal"? Can you share what it was like losing
those last ten to fifteen? That's where I'm at right now. I've
redoubled my efforts.
2. Can bone-crushing exhaustion be a result of LC? I have experienced
Help with calculations30 Sep 2004 03:48 GMT4
Maybe it's because I've been out of the LC loop for so long (since about
July,) but I seem to be having some trouble with the nutritional label
of a product.  I decided to give the Slim-Fast CarbZone bars a try.
The  nutrition label says...:

Man I had a lot of REALLY big clothes ;-) I probably have about 80
shirts/pants/shorts that I'm going to give to some lucky Goodwill..
(unless anyone in Austin reads this and needs some XXL/size 42 stuff!)
I love the casual chronology too...I'm lazy, so clothing items were

I had figured on a BMI target of around 22-23.  For my height, that would
be around 180.
Recently I have started to wonder where else I could lose weight.  While
I'm not exactly Mr. Sixpack Abs, I am fairly bulletproof from weight
another high fat diet29 Sep 2004 17:24 GMT1
I came across a commercial diet program, that I had never heard of.

It is called Banta, based on William Banting.
I don't need to pay them $25.50 at this point, but if I were just starting
steak!29 Sep 2004 17:02 GMT8
I don't eat steak very often, but I was in Sam's club and they had some
ribeyes on sale.  I fired up the charcoal grill this afternoon and seared
them Pittsburgh style* to med-rare.  I gotta tell you steak is so damn good!
I wish it was cheaper, but I find that the junk I see on ...
What are the effects of cheating?29 Sep 2004 15:14 GMT12
I fasted on Yom Kippur (Friday sundown to Saturday sundown).  So for
dinner Saturday night I broke the fast with several dishes I have
become accustomed to using for this purpose.
Most of the dishes were fine on the South Beach Diet, but one
Low-carb creme brulee?29 Sep 2004 06:39 GMT17
Possible to make a low-carb creme brulee, flan, or custard?
I know I won't have the crackly crust, but it's occurred to me I could
pour a little Torani caramel syrup over the top, or serve with
raspberries.
