1. When you have finished your meal, say an affirmation out loud
several times. Here's some suggestions: "I've now finished eating
till lunch/dinner/6.00 pm." (whatever is suitable given the

When did Ranch dressing go up a carb?29 Nov 2005 15:20 GMT2
I just noticed today that Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing (original)
has now gone from 1 carbs per serving to 2!  When did this happen and
why?  Have they added something else to it or did everyone just
miscount the actual content?  I have also noticed the same thing on any
REC: Black Bean Cakes29 Nov 2005 01:52 GMT12
Found this recipe on the Safeway store site.  It claims to have 20g Carbs
with 20g Fiber, which looks funny to me.  Now, if we substitute black SOY
beans, can we get negative carbs?  :-)
Looks tasty anyway.
Month end report28 Nov 2005 20:24 GMT3
Not such a good month, but still moving in the right direction (very
slowly): 260/242/200.
Disappointed to only lose one pound in the last four weeks, but will
keep going regardless.
I think I'll lurk28 Nov 2005 17:07 GMT47
sad to say, but I think I'd better go back to lurking. I'm not up for the BS
of some and I'm being quite intolerant. I don't like that in others so I
need to stop right now.
It seems that for some reason, my life is kind of sickly tragic. so much

Calorie balance: eaten vs excreted27 Nov 2005 04:20 GMT14
I'm sure there must be plenty of info on this, this is an interesting
question that's pretty fundamental.
My question is "What percentage of ingested calories are excreted?"
Say you are on 2000 calories per day, how many calories would the average

soy flour question25 Nov 2005 17:34 GMT16
The low carb breads on the market are still raising my blood sugar too much.
I occasionally like to make an open faced sandwich.  I found some bread
recipes using soy flour I want to try.  When a recipe calls for a certain
amount of soy flour does it mean "sifted" or "not sifted"?  ...

Successful low carb dressing...25 Nov 2005 09:05 GMT2
Used the usual ingredients, sausage, shallots, onion, garlic, sliced
mushrooms, chopped celery, a selection of fresh herbs from the herb
garden, (basil, dittany, sage, curry, thyme, rosemary), but in place of
bread or cornbread, I tossed a large can of drained, shredded bamboo
Happy Thanksgiving!25 Nov 2005 01:12 GMT5
My strategy in handle today's carb filled environment, is and was to have a
large breakfast.  When I confront the carby stuff, I won't be hungry.  I
feel this is a key to exercising self control in rejecting carbs.
