REC: Super Soup07 Nov 2003 15:34 GMT7
I had bought a free-range chicken last weekend and roasted it. There is such
a huge difference in taste, it's the only type I buy any longer.
Anyway, I had the carcass and some meat left. This week it finally started
feeling like winter around here (no more 90 degree days, thank ...
Nutrition after day 207 Nov 2003 15:32 GMT6
I can't quite believe it, but I did eat to plan yesterday (if you don't
count one slight timing error of postponing afternoon snack until after I
lifted.  If I lift with food in my stomach, it can make me real burpy and I
don't feel very well).  The bad thing is I awoke at 2:00 am ...

Turkey burgers revisited07 Nov 2003 14:12 GMT15
Well, I made turkey burgers for dinner tonight.  I managed to find the 1%
fat ground breast meat only and I thought the flavor was much milder!  2 of
the three kids ate the burgers, although we had to endure my daughter's
constant repeating of "Where's the beef?" throughout most of ...

Finally!07 Nov 2003 05:01 GMT12
Finally, finally, finally...I am at 150 pounds!
It's been, well it seems like weeks and weeks since I've been riding the
153, 152, 151 point. I just couldn't get it down to the big 150.
So, I've lost 23 pounds and have 20 to go, over the half way mark. : )
Anniversary07 Nov 2003 01:56 GMT37
I am now entering my fifth year of maintaining within a reasonable
"box" around my goal. I have scrapoed and crawled back to 141 and would
not want to lose more than two pounds.
stress and NOT eating07 Nov 2003 01:31 GMT12
Most of us have had stress-triggered eating.  How many of you have stress
related NOT eating?  I had a very stressful episode this morning that wiped
me out for the entire day - never felt hungry at all, just nauseous and had
a headache.  When I finally forced myself to eat, it ...
Introduction (new dieter)07 Nov 2003 00:44 GMT8
This is my first post here. I am sorry if some of my questions are
covered by the FAQ. Is this newsgroup moderated?
I am glad that I found this place. I am in desperate need to lose
quite a bit of weight. I tried a few diets and they did not work for
Parents - give your kids a whole grain breakfast06 Nov 2003 23:21 GMT5
Get with the whole grain, guys and gals!  I generally eat six servings
of whole grain daily.  Never any white bread, white potatoes, or any
refined grains.

Ground turkey and other notes06 Nov 2003 15:27 GMT2
Surprise!  I made turkey meatloaf and everyone ate it!  My previously
mentioned son who never eats his protein,  asked for seconds.  I nearly fell
out of my chair.  My husband picked clean the rack I used for cooking.
Usually, I have meatloaf left over for sandwiches ( it's not a ...
playing with my food again ;-006 Nov 2003 15:27 GMT10
I made cornbread the other day again.  The recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of
milk.  I mixed 2 servings of whey protein (40g) into the milk before I mixed
it into the recipe.  There was no real difference in the results - tasted
great.  And of course I used Splenda instead of sugar and ...

Hi Folks--
Like the subject says, I'm new to formally dieting--this is the first time
in my life that I've been heavy enough that I've felt I needed to do
something.  After being in the 120's 2 years ago, I've gained 40 lbs since
