I'm a squatter!31 Jan 2004 23:51 GMT27
Today's training session consisted of all new exercises.  Any muscles I was
working on a machine, we did with dumbells and free weights.  Any I was
doing with dumbells and free weights, we did on a machine.  Instead of the
leg press, I did my first free weight squats with just the ...
weekly weigh-in report - I lost my first stone!31 Jan 2004 23:51 GMT17
Friday is my weigh-in day.  My new eating regime has faltered a little
this week.  On Saturday I ate far too many pistachio nuts (remind me
to go to my other half's boring works' parties again) and on Wednesday
I met up with an old friend and over-indulged in beer and curry.
Calcium supplement vs. Fat Free Milk31 Jan 2004 20:46 GMT49
My doc recommended that I take a calcium supplement. I am 32 and I
take thyroid hormone supplement. After reading some articles on how
calcium supplements are not that great, I am thinking that perhaps
replacing calcium supplement with 3 glasses of FF milk would work

I just discovered your group and have a question that has probably been
asked 10,000 times.
I have been doing well on my "diet".  Since mid August I have lost 47 lbs
(246 to 199), pretty steady loss, 1 to 2 lbs a week.  I started running in
Strange question30 Jan 2004 15:54 GMT4
This is a weird question, no doubt...
I find that a mild sensation of hunger makes me somehow feel
good. It's hard to explain but somehow my body feels like it is
working better. I have no idea why. I do not overeat etc, so it's not

How to get abs30 Jan 2004 04:41 GMT33
Being someone who has been overweight most of my life, I've never seen my
ab muscles.  I'm just curious if eating right and doing some exercise is
enough to be able to see the outline of one's abs.  I mostly do cardio
workouts with my stairstepper (1hr/day) and walk (1.5 hr/day).  ...
5K, and water weight30 Jan 2004 03:04 GMT13
Well, all the talk about 5Ks lately made me decide to do 5K on the
treadmill today (since I didn't have Tom to train me).  This is only
the second time I've run that long without any walk breaks.  The other
time was several months ago, and since then I've mostly been running
cholesterol results30 Jan 2004 02:29 GMT15
Ok, there was a discussion about cholesterol a while back and coincidentally
I'd just had mine tested.  The results were as follows:
total - 158  (last year 139)
HDL - 80  (last year 51)
AARGH!  Cooking to impress... Help!30 Jan 2004 01:58 GMT19
I am cooking a dinner tonight on short notice for a friend from skipatrol.
I have been single for so long, I haven't had to cook to impress anyone and
don't know if I can.  This is a casual affair, we'll be playing cards and
drinking beer after dinner.  But, I still want it to be ...
Finding the sweet spot30 Jan 2004 01:17 GMT11
I'm a scale junkie, I must admit, its part of my nature.  I used to be a
financial analyst and enjoy collecting and processing data.  I read the IRS
Publication 17 for fun.  Imagine my surprise when it finally dawned on me
this morning that I have been falsifying my own data!
What to mix maca and l-arginine into29 Jan 2004 22:46 GMT3
(I have maca and l-arginine in bulk powder, and am trying for a teaspoon
apiece daily in a way that isn't a huge production.)
Any advice on what to mix these two together into?
I tried chocolate milk, but it just tastes foul.
