SBD Two Week Update12 May 2004 13:47 GMT1
Well, I finished phase one of SBD on Sunday.  My weight is down a full ten
pounds.  Yesterday I started adding some more carbs back to my diet and thus
far, I am good with that.  For breakfast I made my protein shake with
blueberries and left out the peanut butter.
Need medical advice from usenet :-)12 May 2004 13:45 GMT7
I've got an appointment with my physician to talk about a couple of
minor things tomorrow.  I am wondering if there is anything specific I
should inquire about with regard to being into powerlifting and running
and having a recent massive fat loss?  I'm in excellent health, ...

Week seventeen this morning, and down 2.2 pounds from last Tuesday to 219.8!
Yay!
I've noticed for the last two weeks that my knees and feet don't hurt
anymore.  Of course, I've lightened up a bit on yard work because of the
Food & Exercise -- 5/6/2004 (Thursday) through 5/9/2004 (Sunday)12 May 2004 04:05 GMT2
Well, I'm back from North Carolina.  My eating wasn't too bad, but
could have been better -- did too much nibbling on available goodies
at the B&B where we stayed :-).   And I exercised a couple of times --
not a lot, but I didn't plan to.

grrr.11 May 2004 23:37 GMT3
Somehow my IE dumped all my newsgroups at some point when I wasn't
logged on for a few days, so I get back and IE only downloads a handful
and they are all "RE:" posts, anywhere I can go read full threads so I
can catch up?
Cool trick :  a nickel is about 5 grams11 May 2004 23:25 GMT6
My food scale got way out of wack.
Instead of buying a weight to calibrate it I googled and found out that
a nickel is supposed to way about 5 grams.
I got a few nickels together and used that to reset my scale.
herring stew revisited11 May 2004 16:10 GMT5
I've been eating my herring/tomato paste/spinach stew for about a week
now and have found a tasty combination: 1) microwave 8 oz spinach for
3 minutes, then chop up.  2) add four ozs tomato paste and four oz
water  3) add two  3.5 oz cans of herring - shred 4) add two teaspoons

work out too hard!!!11 May 2004 13:57 GMT3
Dear Group,
Curves gave me a free week. I tried it the first day. I could only make it
around the machines once. You are suppose to go around 2 1/2 times. I also
hurt my body getting into the machines as I am very huge. I weigh 340lbs.
No Curves this week.....11 May 2004 03:03 GMT1
I need to learn to ride the new bike I bought last weekend.  It's going to
take awhile to get used to the new shifting system.  It's a Trek 1800C road
bike.  http://www.trekbikes.com/bikes/2004/road/1800c.jsp  I never thought
there could be such a difference in bikes but this thing ...

new hot cereal10 May 2004 23:00 GMT1
I found some nice Lithuanian hot cereal at a russian deli where I
sometimes shop. This cereal is a mix of grains: oats, wheat, peas, and
rye. These grains are not "rolled" or anything and are in their virgin
form. They can be cooked into a hot cereal, by soaking them in water
GI resource?10 May 2004 16:01 GMT5
Does anyone know of a good reference that lists the glycemic index of
different foods -- books, websites, etc.?  I need a good reference I can use
to look up various things.  Thanks -- M9
Joined a running class10 May 2004 15:26 GMT11
Remember back when Jayjay joined a bootcamp class at the crack of dawn?
I joined a running class that meets at 7 am on Saturday mornings.  (My
husband was shocked when he heard the time.  I pointed out that I wasn't
scheduled for anything else then.)
