Advice for my wife... Morbid obesity...27 May 2004 03:39 GMT11
Hi, I'm Mike. I've posted a few times now about my recent diet and I've
gotten some great advice to this point so I thought I'd come here again. My
wife has been trying to diet along with me since I started at the beginning
of April, and so far she's been doing alright. She's 26 and ...
Importance of Pacing?26 May 2004 23:53 GMT8
I've been looking at my progress chart over the past 3 months, and
happily noticed that my daily "averaged" weight measurements have
nearly all been within 1 lb of my intended pace of loss.
Last week the "smoothed average" was getting close to a lb under my

How do I set my OE to not see/download the crossposts to these NG's that
have recently sprung up here on ASD?
Thanks in advance
Successful bariatric surgery26 May 2004 16:04 GMT39
I had to go thru hell for this surgery.  First, my insurance company
refused to cover it because I didn't meet the minimum weight guidelines ( >
100 lbs over)  I spent weeks trying to gain 40 lbs so I would make the cut.
Then, I couldn't find a psych consult which would be covered ...
I'm leaving on a jet-plane....and will try to count calories this    time around26 May 2004 02:26 GMT7
I leave for the U.S. tomorrow on my one month's trip to the U.S. I had been
debating between watching calories or watching carbs during the trip. The
last few weeks of watching calories (and reducing carbs to control hunger)
have been pretty successful. So I decided to try and watch ...

Home Gym26 May 2004 00:06 GMT5
I just purchased a Weider 9300 home gym system.  I don't have a clue on how
to properly use the thing.  The chart that came with it is a general Weider
exercise chart and isn't tailored specifically for my machine.  If anyone
has any information on a website that gives examples and ...
19 weeks, still making progress25 May 2004 23:12 GMT10
Week Nineteen this morning, down 1.1 pounds from last week.  I'm at 217 now,
and for some reason I'm struggling.  I think its weather-related as we have
been having cool and blustery days here and I'm not going outside to work as
much.  Inside is where the chairs, sofa, ...
New Handle, New Software, Old Diet25 May 2004 21:01 GMT2
We've got 2-3 "JJ's" here in ASD, so I figured that while I'm trying to
switch from NewsXpress to XNews, I'll use a new "handle". (FYI, a "byakee"
is a nasty critter from H.P. Lovecraft's novels).
Also, after 3 weeks of illness, I finally got back on my diet and exercise
oats: high glycemic carbs?25 May 2004 19:38 GMT9
Well, we had a power outage at work this morning and my plan was to
start my morning with oatmeal, when I felt hungry, probably around 9
or so. Due to the outage I didn't have my oatmeal until about 10, and
I was ravenous for it. I ate slowly and mindfully, but here's the

Accountability & the 2nd best thing I did on vacation25 May 2004 13:44 GMT10
Being accountable: It looks like I've gained almost 2.5 pounds on
vacation.  The scale didn't budge between last Wednesday morning and this
morning. (Monday is the official weight)  It feels great to be back
cooking my own food and on my regular exercise program.  I have to ...
