An Introduction and a question.16 May 2004 23:08 GMT6
I have been subscribed to this newsgroup for a couple years now, I have posted
a few times and lurked quite a bit but never seemed to really get my act
together and actually loose any weight.  I am ready to change that now.  I hve
read in several fitness magazines about how many ...
Anyone try ediets.com?16 May 2004 21:59 GMT1

it and what ya get for your money.
To gain or not to gain16 May 2004 19:35 GMT23
A rather philosophical title for a message that's just musing on a
fairly short-term issue:
I'm competing in a bench press meet this Saturday.  I will compete in
the 149-165 lb. weight class, and I currently weigh 152.  (The weight
Overcoming Binge Eating16 May 2004 15:12 GMT19
This is the title of a book by Christopher Fairburn that I just finished
reading and highly recommend.  It's written for the general public and
geared toward those who feel they may have binge eating disorder, bulimia,
or anorexia or for those who are living with someone with the ...
A new approach...16 May 2004 14:09 GMT13
Hi there. I posted about a week ago about my struggles with my body fat
reduction plan. I had lost about 28 pounds (mostly lean mass) in 40 days as
a result of moderate calorie counting, and while I had done some lifting I
had not done any cardio. At the time, I was still under the ...
TOM question(women only heh)16 May 2004 03:30 GMT6
Anyone noticing increased cramps, bloodloss, headaches, bloating since
they've lost weight during your cycle? I am just MISERABLE with it every
month for the last 5-6 months since last year when I was 260lbs - or
maybe I was just so miserable then with everything anyway that I ...

50 pounds gone!!!16 May 2004 02:16 GMT10
Just had to share about this morning's weight - I'm down 50.3 pounds in 122
days!  18.8% weight loss!  My BMI is down from 33.5 to 27.2.  Still have
about 19 pounds to go to reach my current goal but I'm sure I can do it.
Thank you, all, for your terrific support!
Summer Goals & update15 May 2004 20:35 GMT16
After weeks of working 70hrs a week (w/ commute and lunch its more like
85hrs) I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.   Next week is
the last week of hell and we are finally done with our construction project
at work.   Then its a matter of digging myself out of all ...
Differences in Elevation and Calorie Burn15 May 2004 15:16 GMT3
Does anybody know if and by what factor fewer calories are burned in a day
(all other things being equal) if one is at sea level as opposed to almost
6,000 feet above sea level?  I will be for a much longer time at sea level
but I was for quite a long time at this elevation.  I ...
Some ramblings about maintenance15 May 2004 03:59 GMT53
Only 15 weeks into my weight loss, and at least 25 pounds to go, I know it's
a bit early to think about maintenance but I want to be prepared.
This is the third major diet I have undertaken.  The first was in 1976 when
I lost 45 pound (200 to 155).  The second was in 1994 when I ...
Back to the program15 May 2004 02:20 GMT6
As I've mentioned several times I lost my original weight on the Weight
Watchers plan back in the 90's.  Since that time I've managed to stay within
15 pounds of my goal weight (140).  The last couple of years it's been a
struggle to lose any weight and I'm stuck in the 147-150 ...
Some thoughts15 May 2004 01:46 GMT10
Stolen from others over the time spent on my way to better health :)
Portion control is an absolute must. Learning it is harder than you
think, applying it is worse but the outcome is amazing.
You don't have to follow your cultures time schedule. Noon does NOT mean
calorie counting15 May 2004 01:36 GMT3

(I'm in the UK)

Hello all14 May 2004 20:11 GMT11
Hey everyone -- The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated! (just kidding)
Thanks to all who were wondering where I was -- I've been lurking occasionally but
have really tried to keep down the amount of time I am spending seated at the
computer.
