I tried the low-carb diet amost two years ago and it wasn't for me.  But

A friend and I went to see a movie last night, we both have a similar food
plan, which is free from processed grains, sugar, etc.  So our normal going out
for cheesecake or some other treat was out.  It was late so grabbing a coffee
didn't seem to fit the bill either, neither of us ...

I have been dieting (~1300 cal/day) / exercising (1/2 hr jog or 1 hour
walk daily) for about three weeks now and I have lost about 2 pounds.
Is this normal?  Should I do something different or just wait?

Work making you fat?30 Jun 2004 05:00 GMT1
I've always thought that sitting behind a desk all day is unhealthy.

"Imagine sitting in the same position all day with just the occasional
break for a quick bite or to run to the bathroom. No, we're not

Complicating matters a little is my waistline is still stuck at 38.5",

Losing it!29 Jun 2004 19:17 GMT18
I have lurked on this group for several months and have always enjoyed
reading the posts. Like many of the people here, I have gained/regained most
of my life.  Losing weight has NEVER been a problem (but neither has
regaining weight!)
Yogurt healthy? - no way!29 Jun 2004 19:03 GMT23
I have always read that yogurt is a healthy snack, a good alternative
to cookies, etc.  But I have trouble finding any that have less sugar
than a full can of Moutain Dew!  I have four flavors here, they range
from 43g of sugar to 51g.  And it's not good (natural) sugar either.

Men are not as good at maintaining?29 Jun 2004 04:38 GMT1
I just spoke to my friend, who has some background in nutrition (she
studied "nutrition") somewhere, and she said an interesting thing,
that men generally fail more than women, in maintaining their weight
loss. Is that really true?
