Today's doctor visit10 Jun 2004 03:29 GMT14
Got back from the doctor a couple of hours ago and have been just
sitting and thinking about things.
I found out I have diabetes.
I'll probably take a little time off from ASD just so I can be alone
Back to lifting!10 Jun 2004 02:03 GMT6
I saw my orthopedic surgeon today and was given the go-ahead to lift again!
Hurray!  I've had a very active recovery period with Ahmed working on my
knee strength and muscle memory moves for the various lifts.  I did bench
press with Tom two times a week,. and actually saw some ...
Confused about Calories...10 Jun 2004 01:54 GMT6
Does any body know the answer to this?, while reading about on the net i
found a site that states for every 1gram of carbs you eat it is equivalent
to 3.75 calories and for every 1 gram of fat you eat it's equivalent to 9
calories.
Back to Basics10 Jun 2004 01:51 GMT20
Blah, I had an awful visit at the nutritionist's yesterday -- up to 158 (from a low
of 150 at Nov.'s visit) and body fat was 25% -- eeek, it had been down to 20%.
So it is back to basics -- he wants me to come in for a weigh-in in two weeks just to
keep on trackl. Also, he wants my ...

my update09 Jun 2004 18:51 GMT4
Well, in light of a few others posting theirs, I'll post one too...  :)
Life is finally settling down, and I'm back to a good workout routine.
My current schedule is to bike ride a 8 - 12mile ride to the gym (going the
long, roundabout way), then doing a circuit training on the ...
Cake, cake and more cake09 Jun 2004 18:18 GMT4
I'm really glad it's about time to go home.  Our convenience center has
been filled with cake today.  So far I've managed to stick to my plan and
eat only one small piece.
Each time we retire an old system around here we hold a "funeral" for it.
a question & warm fuzzies :-)09 Jun 2004 02:55 GMT8
Does anyone else have this -- I am down a little over 30lbs, but I
don't see any difference when I look in the mirror. I mean, I do
notice my face is thinner, but I notice more in my clothes than in the
mirror. I think part of the problem is that I never really looked at
7 pound vacation gain update09 Jun 2004 02:53 GMT1
I had gained 7 pounds on a 4 day trip - it's now ten days later -
guess what?  It's all gone!  That seems to prove, at least in my case,
that added salt can cause a 7 pound or more weight gain - and also a
20 point increase in my blood pressure.  So, want to lose 7 pounds
3500 calories = 1 pound?09 Jun 2004 02:19 GMT22
I first read "if you eat 3500 extra calories you'll gain a pound" at least
35 years ago, so this notion has been around quite a long time.  I'm
wondering what the research was that proved this.
According to Fitday, a pound of lard has 4,091 calories.  So if you eat the
Atkins Approved09 Jun 2004 02:04 GMT5
OK, Atkins is dead and buried.  How in the hell can he approve
anything?  Yet, Subway and other advertisers keep saying these words.
I thought false advertising was against the law?
Unless of course someone has found a way to communicate with the dead.
Once again..Ladies only unless your brave.08 Jun 2004 21:48 GMT16
I'm dying, or at least I wished I were. It's TOM again and AGAIN (4th
month in a row) I'm absolutely miserable with my period. My weight is up
2 lbs, I am bloated, bitchy, exhausted, lower back pain that is beyond
normal, tomorrow I know I will be on the sofa the majority of the day
Where you CAN'T find Sweet-n-Low....08 Jun 2004 20:02 GMT78
I just saw a TV commercial for Sweet-n-Low, in which they show aliens
on another planet using their product. During said commercial, they
claim "Sweet-n-Low is EVERYWHERE!" I'm here to tell you it's NOT.
I think there should be a web site where people can add the name and
