Book recommendation?21 Jun 2004 02:43 GMT6
Can anyone recommend a good nutrition guide?  What I'm looking for is
something that lists (alphabetical, if possible, and not by category) the
basic nutrition information (calories, grams of fat, carbohydrates, fiber,
and protein) per serving for unprepared foods/raw ingredients.  ...
The Perfect Diet Chemical21 Jun 2004 01:49 GMT5
Hey, I have discovered this chemical that can help us lose weight ... it's such
a simple chemical that every 3rd grader knows it's formula ... it's H2O.
Anyways, since about 18 months ago I started drinking more and more water ...
first about half a gallon a day, then a gallon for a ...
145 :-)21 Jun 2004 01:35 GMT75
Well, today I weighed in at 145.  I'm not sure why I've lost weight so
fast these last few days -- it's not what I expected to happen when I
got down to this level; I thought it might take me a few months to
lose the last 5 pounds, and instead it has been only a few weeks.
Rice?21 Jun 2004 00:44 GMT9
Before I started dieting, I used to eat a lot of meals with rice (chicken
stir fry etc).
I was looking on weightlossresources.co.uk and there are so many differences
between rice! Basmati has 41.2% fat, whereas American Long Grain has 2.7%!

I am doing this up date now, because it will be the two week mark on
Monday. I have given up so much in the last two weeks.

Checking in20 Jun 2004 17:41 GMT15
Hi, friends.  Its been a little while since I last checked in, thought I'd
better post my progress to keep myself honest!
It's 22 weeks and 3 days now since I began my diet, and I'm happy to say I'm
down to 207.2!  That's a little better than 60 pounds loss for the diet,
Nutritional Values on packaging20 Jun 2004 16:29 GMT19
I read in a magazine that the FDA is may start pushing for companies not
only to list the nutritional values and calories *per serving*, but the same
information for the entire contents of a package (the premise being that
sometimes people consume an entire package of something not ...
Maybe a mistake??? 20 Jun 2004 15:48 GMT4
I am taking B12 under my doctors recommendation.  I also drink 2 cups of coffee
a day.  So I have been taking the B12 w/ in the morning just before I drink my
morning coffee.  But I'm wondering if the coffee inhibits the absorption of the
B12.  Anyone know?  I can't find the info ...
Help! - Running pace for metabolising fat & losing weight?20 Jun 2004 10:59 GMT22
I am in the process of losing weight.  I weigh about 200 pounds
(90kg) and need to lose 30 pounds.
I have cut my calorie intake so I have a 1000 calorie deficit a
day.  I eat normally but less of everything.  I would not find it
Week 18 of 2420 Jun 2004 10:18 GMT5
From Week 12 to 18 my weekly weight losses were:
0.8 lbs, 2.3, 2.8, 1.6, 1.9, 0.3?, 0.3?
The last two aren't a tragedy since for the entire month of June I was
on vacation, away from my digital scale, exercising a lot and eating

Delicious herring spinach stew - really!19 Jun 2004 15:30 GMT5
Here's one of the healthiest dinners you can possibly eat.  It is all
"superfoods": spinach, herring (fatty fish), garlic, tomato paste
(lycopene), olive oil. This may cut your risk of heart disease in
half. Calories: spinach 100, herring 200, olive oil 200, tomato paste
So how do I begin maintenance?19 Jun 2004 15:29 GMT17
Well, this week I seem to be having an unexpected visit from the
whoosh fairy.  My plan was (and is) to diet down to 145 and then stay
in the 145-150 range, but I expected it to take a few months to lose
these last 5 pounds.  For whatever reason, I've lost 3 pounds in the

Hay Diet - Food Combining19 Jun 2004 05:40 GMT2
Recently I've read about this Hay Diet also called Food Combining. It's
about right food combinatons. You cannot eat starches with proteins.
It looks quite easy to follow, and they say that results come quick too.
Has anybody ever tried this diet?
