Garlic herring stew update06 Jul 2004 18:10 GMT3
Well, folks, you were right - I should have listened earlier.  Garlic
stinks!  I finally changed after a client of mine said I scored a 10
on the stink scale.  The next day I used extra strong mouthwash, etc -
and suddenly I could smell myself - ugh! So, my new mix:  1) cook 9 oz
*Ping* JayJay about your patella problems06 Jul 2004 14:07 GMT2
JayJay - how long did it take for you to see improvement from physical
therapy on your knee problems?  The therapist has told me a lot of my
current knee pain is from my horrible patella alignment issues.  Taping
helps a lot, am getting inserts ordered for my shoes next week (tried ...
Body Fat Breakthrough!06 Jul 2004 05:50 GMT16
OK, a couple years ago, I bought a Tanita scale for more accuracy in
weighing. It also has the body fat measuring bit... which I know is
not really very accurate, but I figured it was useful to see
upward/downward trends.
Calories Count for wine coolers06 Jul 2004 02:47 GMT2
Does anyone know the calorie content of Seagrams wine coolers? Their
website doesn't say and neither does the USDA database.
Thanks,
Karen
Still 144 :-)05 Jul 2004 23:18 GMT5
Somewhat to my surprise, I still weighed 144 at the gym today, despite
somewhat excess eating and lack of exercise this past week.  I expect
it's partly due to stress, and actually my average calories for the
week weren't too much over my target.

New exercise -- studying05 Jul 2004 16:21 GMT1
I'm studying for a final due Friday.  I made a study guide with an index and
I study by going through the index and giving definitions or ticking off
lists of things associated with the topics.  Meanwhile I walk back and forth
in the living room.
I'm back05 Jul 2004 15:31 GMT9
I got home from North Carolina -- where I was staying with my mom
while she had hip replacement surgery -- last night at around 8:30.
It was a stressful week.  The surgery went well, but Mom was quite
disoriented afterward -- an effect of the pain meds, probably

Washington State Supreme Court Justice Faith Ireland spent years
searching for a solution to her back pain.
Her quest eventually led to weightlifting, and Ireland is now a
chicken skin fat05 Jul 2004 00:29 GMT5
I have a problem with what my wife calls 'chicken skin fat'.  What she means
is the sort of soft watery fat and extra skin which resides around the very
bottom half of my stomach i.e . a major hang over.
Simple question.  How do I get rid of it!!!  What is the best exercise to
Camping this week05 Jul 2004 00:20 GMT6
I'm going camping this week, leaving Monday and getting back Thursday.  The
compulsive perfectionist side of me has taken hold; I've planned my menus,
pre-weighed (to the eighth of an ounce) and packaged my portions, and feel
like I'll be in control.  Probably way OVER control, but ...
an anniversary of sorts04 Jul 2004 22:38 GMT8
Last month made it a year that I've lost and kept off the first 100 lbs of
my total loss.  I only realized it a few days ago when signing up for a 5K
that I ran last summer.  Regardless of the problems I've had with my stupid
eating disorder and the medical crap I went through, I ...
Excerpt: New Book Marks End of Atkins04 Jul 2004 19:33 GMT5
I have permission from Cypress House to distribute an
excerpt from the new book, "Survival of the Thinnest," by
David Hariton. This book could be the eight ounces that
tips the scale against Atkins, a diet the author argues is
Pedometer Reading for Friday - Day 904 Jul 2004 15:51 GMT2
Goal: 12,000
Actual: 12,538+
I didn't wear the pedometer when I went out last night, but I probably only had
100-200 extra steps. I am continuing through tomorrow and then I think I'll add up my
