Bad news31 Aug 2004 15:11 GMT55
Just today I learned that I have a growing nodule on the place where
half of my thyroid was removed due to adenoma 10 years ago. The nodule
is hypoechoic and is about 1x1x1 cm.
My grandpa had thyroid cancer in 1969, so it must be hereditary. He

Cutting calories without fatigue/energy loss31 Aug 2004 12:17 GMT31
I'd like to lose about 30 pounds. I'm 6'3". I was rail thin as a
child. I have gradually gained over the years. I weighted about 170 at
30, about 180 at 40, about 200 at 45, about 210 at 50, and now, at 60,
I hover around 235. It doesn't seem to matter much what I eat. If I

Cravings for potato chips, possible solution30 Aug 2004 21:19 GMT12
I used to crave potato chips everyday, but now if I crave them I just eat a
little salt, just enough to taste the salt ... usually gets rid of the
cravings. I think all we crave from potato chips is salt. Anyone have some
experience with this?

I'm new to the group, and I'm trying to read enough to figure out who is
into the flame wars, and who will be good for advising me. So far,
it's a lot less flame based than many other groups.
I spent most of my childhood battling the pudgy kid look. As a gal in my
Food & Exercise Sat 28/08/200430 Aug 2004 13:05 GMT1
A friend celebrated his birthday and there were all kinds of no-no foods. My
mistake was that I had nothing to eat until the party. I was too busy and
only realised that when a slice of cheesecake was offered! So I am not even
going to try remembering it all. But the friends were ...
School approaching....30 Aug 2004 04:55 GMT1
How can I stay "on the wagon?"  Any advice?  I've worked so hard this
summer.  Last year was all about going out with friends for pitchers of beer
and 10 cent wings EVERY THURSDAY night.  I so don't want to succumb to that
this year.
Resisted a big temptation30 Aug 2004 03:00 GMT10
I'm proud of myself and DH.  We went to the high school football game and
all around us people were eating frito pie, pizza and nachos which smelled
so good.  We didn't give in to the temptation.  We triumphed over our
odor-induced cravings.  We did have a small portion of cheese ...
