First month report...18 Aug 2004 11:42 GMT11
I've been doing my WOE which is working for me for 30 days now. :)  Hardly
seems like it has been that long, so I must be pretty satisfied with what
I'm doing - the time ans weight is just flying away. :)
I'm doing a low-crap diet with a calorie target of around 1800.  Somedays

Recommend BMI scale18 Aug 2004 02:54 GMT7
I am thinking of getting a BMI scale but there are so many choices out
there.  Can anybody recommend a good brand?  I leave the determination of
"good" to your value system.

Slim n 6?18 Aug 2004 01:20 GMT11
This is my first time posting here.
I was watching a program on TV about the diet and exercise program called
Slim n 6. Is anyone familiar with this one?
Or has anyone tried it? I wanted to hear from someone real instead of
Settled into new environment17 Aug 2004 20:58 GMT11
Well, we finally got internet service at our new home/town and I can post to
the group again.  Unfortunately, I have a 5 pound gain to report.  I'm
really surprised that it's not *more* than 5 pounds with all the bad
restaurant meals and the junk food I ate during the delay in ...
work stash suggestions...17 Aug 2004 18:09 GMT52
Last week I ran into a friend at Whole Foods while I was reading the
labels on the cups of soup.  I was looking for a lower sodium version to
keep at my desk.  Soup does not tempt me and I like to have a few things
at my desk that I will not want to break into for days that I am ...
a slight Food & Exercise addendum17 Aug 2004 14:58 GMT18
Just decided to do a set of pushups to see if I could exceed my
previous PR of 18 reps -- did 20 :-).  This is guy-style, from the
toes -- not too bad for a 56-year-old lady, I think.

Down 2 pounds17 Aug 2004 14:00 GMT23
Well, it seems I've lost two pounds in the past week, despite eating
rather carelessly (not excessive calories, but more sugar and fat than
usual) and exercising less.  Today I weighed in at 141.  I'm feeling a
little conflicted about whether to change my goal range (145-150).
An Introduction17 Aug 2004 13:56 GMT50
(Apologies for the length)
I've been lurking here on and off for about a year now and thought it was
time I introduced myself. I'm a 29 year old female, six feet tall, 315
pounds. I've struggled with my weight since I was very young, although it's

It's working.... I'm keeping my calorie intake to an average of
1600-1800/day and getting some exercise.  I haven't settled into a
routine yet but it's only my first week so I'm trying not to overdue
it.  I feel better already and the scale is showing a loss although
Calories17 Aug 2004 02:04 GMT4
How many calories of energy does a typical D size battery have? After you
compute this, try to consume the equivilent of no more than 12 batteries a day.
work social tomorrow17 Aug 2004 01:40 GMT21
I've been doing really well on my low-crap diet and I wanted to get some
ideas for tomorrow.  My workplace is having an ice cream social - right on
the table next to my cubical.  I was thinking that I could participate too
with a little preparation.  I thought I could bring my own ...
More Bally stuff16 Aug 2004 23:14 GMT10
Stopped in after work today. As usual (?) I started out on the treadmill, a
mile and a half including the cool down. Then tried a couple of the machines
that I used before. Still have to work out the amount of weight I put on. I
also tried a couple of ones that I hadn't before. It's ...
crab meat (fake)16 Aug 2004 20:00 GMT10
I have a package of fake crab meat.  What should I do with it?  I'm sure I
can chop it up and throw in some celery and onion and a bit of mayo and make
a salad with it ... but I'm looking for something a little different, yet
healthy.  Any ideas?
