Well, here's the data for the week I spent in North Carolina.  Rather
more food and less exercise than usual.  There were some good reasons

Blood pressure and salt16 Aug 2004 13:10 GMT14
I'm quite salt sensitive.  After two days of a typical "American" diet
with 6 grams of salt a day my bp went from 115/75 to 140/90.  No more
salt for me!  It's taken 3 days of low salt to get back to 115/75.
Low salt has another "benefit" - low salt doesn't taste as good so you
brown sugar substitute15 Aug 2004 10:56 GMT10
I was just watching the food networks show "low carb and loving it" and the
guy made a dessert that called for a brown sugar substitute.   I have yet to
see anything like this in the stores and was wondering if anyone has seen
this, used it, and where they have been able to find it.

Health and quality of life15 Aug 2004 05:28 GMT7
I went to a convention last week.
Yes, it was nice that friends and colleagues I had not seen for two
years were astounded at my weight loss.
But my WOL is all about health and quality of life.
Ping Barbara Hirsh re: Obesity Myth15 Aug 2004 03:22 GMT1

to be that being fat in itself is not a problem, that the illness
associated with weight/BMI is from eating poorly and not exercising.
Is he right?  I guess what I really want to know is, as someone with a

My 22 yr old son13 Aug 2004 10:55 GMT5
Is on a 1000 calorie diet and says he feels no hunger.  I try to cut
back by just 300 calories and wake up hungry in the middle of the
night.  What gives?
What is the most weight you can lose13 Aug 2004 08:05 GMT9
per day? per week? I have been trying a new diet and have lost 8 pounds in 5

out a little bit. I only have about 15 pounds to lose and have been having an
impossible time losing it after trying EVERY diet ...
