I'm a 26 year old male in good health (aside from being obese)...5 ft 6 in tall and weighing 325 lbs. I am considering going on my very first diet, and I was hoping you could give me some advice regarding calorie intake.

Atkins sets an upper level for carbs, around 100 g per day. Eat fewer calories and maintain weight works regardless of macro food source, just as diabetics say eat to your meter, non-diabetics should eat to their scale by cutting back calories when the scale shows an increase. ...

There are only 100 calories in an average potato, and most people would be quite stuffed with 15 or so potatoes. So why not go on a potato diet?

Have you ever overeaten a meal, then in trying to recover on the next meal, binge even more two meals later, only to try to recover three meals later again? Some of my friends have had trouble with this and would like to know how to break the cycle when this happens.
