Food & Exercise -- 3/19/2005 (yesterday)20 Mar 2005 15:03 GMT1
Stayed home all day, spending most of the day on work for my job.
Tonight, though, we will have a nice splurge meal -- a German wine
dinner:

Please give me just a minute of your time.  I do not want to intrude on
your Newsgroup.  I, and another Grandma, have been working very hard
for the last several years to get the Florida legislature to pass the
Infant Eye Care Bill (HB1055). The Bill mandates an infant eye dilation

Please dump the diet.20 Mar 2005 01:34 GMT10
If you're thinking of going on a diet to lose those extra pounds
think again. Long-term weight control through dieting is near
impossible, for the simple reason is that diets promote only short
term solutions not long term.

New nurse, reading my chart and seeing the massive weight loss, asked,
"When did you have gastric bypass surgery?" Her jaw dropped when I

Yogurt Promotes Fat Loss19 Mar 2005 11:43 GMT43
Could this be true? I eat yogurt simply because it's tasty, low in calories
& a good substitue for things like cream or custard.
I guess die-hard LCers will probably disagree since they prefer cream but I
count calories.
To lift or not to lift, that is the ...19 Mar 2005 03:55 GMT10
So, I'm almost 5 months into my new lifestyle--lost 40lbs, still no smoking,
and I feel great! I've started something recently, and now I'm really
wondering if it's the right time:  lifting weights.
Here's some facts, in no particular order:
Why Does Exercise Suck?19 Mar 2005 03:44 GMT39
So last night I went to the gym, hoping to get a little groove going
because I've recently eat quite a bit, but when I got there, I only did
my typical weight lifting. I planned to do cardio but was really not
feeling like it, and, after a ten minute walk on the treadmill, I left
Anybody tried www.weightloss4idiots.com?19 Mar 2005 03:06 GMT1
Back in Oct 2004, someone asked if anybody has tried this $27 dollar
subscription to a diet/weightloss program. Nobody answered. I thought I
would try to ask also.
I am also interested in feedback before I spend $27.
Salad days19 Mar 2005 02:01 GMT12
I now have seven salad days a week and that is my lunch. It affords  a
quick way to get protein, fiber, fruit and calcium in one bowl. I make
all my own dressings. To account for the fat that the dresssings are
full fat, I now use sprayed oil for making crepes and stir fries and

salad dressing?18 Mar 2005 14:37 GMT10
What do you use?  I'm thinking of making my own - I don't like the sugar
content of the "lite" versions at the supermarket.
Here's my recipe so far:
1 tbsp olive oil
Calculating calories burned from different exercises18 Mar 2005 05:27 GMT6
I am trying to find a formula which will indicate the number of calories
burned from a particular exercise.
I presume that this may factor in bodyweight and other such details (??)
Does anything like this exist??
