Food & Exercise -- 12/30/2005 (yesterday)31 Dec 2005 23:14 GMT3
Spent the morning at home.  Went to the gym with DH after lunch.  In
the evening we went out for dinner to celebrate our wedding
anniversary -- an intended splurge meal -- not particularly unhealthy
food, but way too much of it.  Tonight will be another, for our
Slim Fast Question31 Dec 2005 22:53 GMT2
I noticed on the Slim Fast Optima ingredients that it contains hydrogenated
soybean oil, but the ingredient list also says that it has 0 grams transfat.
I thought that hydrogenated oils were transfat, so I'm confused about this.
Does anyone have an explanation? Thanks, Kevin
Questions from a Newbie31 Dec 2005 12:25 GMT18
I am 42, Male, weigh about 200 lbs I think, suppose to be near about 150 and
I had a BMI of 31.  Ready to lose a few pounds to get a bit healthier and I
wouldn't mind being a bit trimmer next summer for a beach vacation.
Here are a few questions I was wondering about;
How fatty diet may cause diabetes IN MICE31 Dec 2005 05:17 GMT6
Applies to mice, but interesting.
It is not inconsistent with how both low fat and low carb diets may
work.

30 Week Report - lost a bit more this week than I gained last week31 Dec 2005 04:55 GMT4
I had that inexplicable 1.8 lb weight gain last week. This week I lost 2.2
lb to cover that and lose a bit more. I still feel like my weight has been
sort of "static" though lately. I can't seem to break the 101 kg barrier
(and move on to breaking the big 100 kg barrier!).

YMCA members and those with strength training experience?30 Dec 2005 02:37 GMT4
After wanting a membership to the YMCA and not being able to afford the $440
a year, my parents surprised me with a year membership.  I want to make the
most out of it.  Many of the programs I want to join in, I cannot because
they are during the day when I work.  However, they ...
You know, I don't get it.30 Dec 2005 02:04 GMT17
I look in the mirror and I don't think I look fat.  Yet the scale says
I'm 35 pounds heavier than I was two years ago.  I also hear people
telling me "You're getting bigger every time I see you" yet when I look
in the mirror I don't think I look fat.
Food & Exercise -- 12/26/200530 Dec 2005 01:37 GMT7
Today we drove home from NC.  This evening we've just been relaxing
and catching up on stuff around here -- and reassuring the kitties
that we're home to stay for a while :-).

More Incentive to Maintain -- An Image to Uphold29 Dec 2005 10:49 GMT14
Some of you who've been around for a little while may remember that my
gym chain (Life Time Fitness) magazine was doing a "success story"
article about me -- I put the proof copy up on the web briefly and I
know some of you read it.  Anyway, the article came out in the

losing weight too fast...28 Dec 2005 23:06 GMT19
I seem to have lost 1.5 - 2 kg over the last 7 days. I am using a
Swedish nutrition/exercise program called "halsovakten" to track my food
intake and exercise. My weight is 88kg and body fat is around 15% (using
body calipers), I want to lose 3-4 kilos fat.
