| Lifestyle changes (Beverley) | 04 Nov 2006 04:55 GMT | 11 |
Thank you Beverley for your supportive comments. I am in awe at how fit you are - I don't think I could even balance on a bike these days, let alone ride one. (Though I used to - miles every day as a child, biking to school.) Anyhow - I had a "eureka" moment a few weeks ago, when ...

| weight-loss / fitness software, fitday et al | 03 Nov 2006 18:06 GMT | 43 |
I started looking around for diet & fitness software and found quite a number of candidates. Checking them all out would be a bit of work so I thought I'd see if some of the folks on these ngs might like to contribute.

| Anyone here have an eating disorder? | 03 Nov 2006 10:17 GMT | 10 |
Do you find it difficult to eat healthy? Were you able to lose/gain weight in a healthy way? I have some disordered behaviours like overeating and purging. I found myself going back to purging after a few days of overeating. It's hard

| WHY? | 02 Nov 2006 16:43 GMT | 9 |
Forgive me for venting... Years of experience and knowledge is not easing my frustration. With a "mental" deadline looming for me to reach my goal of losing 5 more lbs, the scale is going in the opposite direction. With the doubling of my efforts a

| NYT article about low calorie diets and long life - thoughts? | 02 Nov 2006 14:16 GMT | 2 |
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/31/health/nutrition/31agin.html?ref=health The guy mentioned in the article is six feet tall and 135lbs. There is no way his stats are healthy. He probably doesn't have any muscle mass at all, or does he? Any thoughts on the article?

| S.M.A.R.T. Goals | 02 Nov 2006 05:53 GMT | 1 |
Like Yogi Berra once said "If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else." Don't let this happen to you. Setting specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time driven (SMART) goals from the beginning of your Program is essential to your success.

| Biking vs Spinning | 01 Nov 2006 22:20 GMT | 13 |
Now that winter is just around the corner I've been checking out spinning classes available in my area. My gym offers them but not at the location near my home. I've been able to locate a class just a few miles from home that fits into my schedule and I can pay as I go - no

| Doug's Week 73 report - down 1.3 lb - 92.8 lb total | 01 Nov 2006 21:33 GMT | 18 |
I guess I am back to losing weight this week. This week was very hectic - and that is probably another clue that more activity - whether formal exercise, or just keeping very busy, is very important for weight loss. This week my average daily calories came to 1779 calories/day. This ...

| Help with Weight Loss | 01 Nov 2006 13:55 GMT | 4 |
I HATE the word diet. I've been on Weight Watchers and South Beach and the Mayo Diet and they all work and have the capacity to make you lose weight fast. Eventually, though, you start to crave the carbs, the sweets and the next thing you know, you've fallen off the wagon

| Fat Flush? | 01 Nov 2006 07:53 GMT | 7 |
Has anyone read this book and tried the Fat Flush program? It sure sounds like you drink a lot of cran-water (unsweetened cranberry juice and water) all throughout the day. I didn't know you could buy unsweetened juice.
