Hi all, I'm Tara and I'm new here. I'm 40, 5'6" and I weighed 268 this morning. That is 10 pounds less than my highest weight ever. I lost some last year watching calories and fat, but was always starving. I gained back 20 of the 30 I lost.

I drink a lot of tea and need to sweeten with sugar. I am looking to eliminate sugar from my diet but am not interested in an artificial sweetener. Anyone else found a fully safe sweetener to use.

This study contradicts what some of us thought - that exercise builds muscle mass which increases metabolism. It still says that exercise is healthy and useful. But as far as weight loss goes, that a calorie is a calorie is a calorie:

I thought banana had an alcalin effect. I took a banana a few minutes ago, and I have pain in the throat and belly. I noticed the same effect with celery? Can someone explain?
