Hi! I'm a 34 year old mom who is looking for some friends for support
while trying to lose weight. I have quite a bit to lose- I'm 5'3" and
264 pounds right now. So I know this wont happen overnight. Laugh all
you want but I actually like doing Richard Simmons videos. He's too
Starvation11 May 2007 15:22 GMT35
How effective is starvation for weight loss? For example, how long would I
need to starve for to lose a noticeable amount of weight?
Also how long can the body go without food without having a negative impact
on future health? If I was to just take water and say vitamin tablets ...
My next U.S. trip - a long one!11 May 2007 08:27 GMT14
I'm making another U.S. trip starting on May 17th. This will be my
longest ever - two months!
I'll be spending just one week in Boston visiting my family and then
the rest of the time - almost 8 weeks - in St. Louis fixing up that

Food & Exercise -- 5/10/200711 May 2007 04:33 GMT1
Had a very pleasant day.  Went for a run in the morning.  Then I had a
"spa afternoon" with my friend Mary Anne at a local inn/spa.  I had a
massage, then we had lunch at poolside, then I had a body wrap
treatment, then we sat out at the pool again for a while and had a

I'm Lisa.  I'm trying (and trying and failing and trying again and
failing again, and trying some more) to lose weight.  I'm not posting
this to elicit sympathy or supportive responses, I'm just tired of
trying to do this thing alone.  So I thought I'd hang out here a while.
Food & Exercise -- 5/9/200710 May 2007 21:32 GMT4
Went to the gym this morning as usual, then home for lunch.  Right
after I finished lunch my friend Mary Anne called and asked me to go
to a British tea room with her, so I did.  She had the full tea (she'd
missed lunch); I had a dessert.  Didn't need it, but it was good :-).
National Weight Control Registry10 May 2007 19:59 GMT17
I got an update letter from them.  Sadly, I had to report that I was more
than 5 pounds above the weight I was 1 year ago.  However, if they correlate
to my original records, they should see that I am well below my pre-diet
peak of 320 pounds.
Benefits of rice or almond milk over non-fat milk.10 May 2007 19:51 GMT21
I use non-fat milk every day in cereal but i've been thinking of
changing over to rice or almond milk due to the sugar in  non-fat
milk.  Non-fat milk has 12 grams per cup. How much does rice and
almond milk have per cup? Also, are rice and almond milk healthier
Fats for losing Weight from Mercola folks10 May 2007 15:37 GMT12
I have no connection to the Mercola.com website, but I watch their YouTube
videos, and I liked this one.
Dr. Pearsall of the http://www.Mercola.com website has made a YouTube video
on using dietary fat while managing weight.

Monday Weigh-in10 May 2007 00:11 GMT7
Had another good week. Just did my weigh in and lost 4 more pounds. I didn't
really do much exercising last week due to allergies, but I did stick to my
1700 calories a day.
Biked in today 13.1 miles to work (trying to get back on track with my
