| Calories after cooking | 30 Jun 2007 19:54 GMT | 3 |
I bought some lf ground pork at the grocery store. It was pretty good for pork, I thought: 4% fat, 1g of sat fat per 4oz serving. Anyway, there was nutrition information on the back of the package that said 180 calories per 4oz serving, etc. But the nutrition information was for ...

| Day 3 of my nighttime fast | 30 Jun 2007 04:37 GMT | 1 |
I'm one of those night-eaters who wake up at 2/3/4am and raid the fridge with a real don't-give-a-sh.t attitude. I've been accommodating for this by keeping enough calories left over at the end of the day, but nighttime eating is really my weak spot.

Usual Friday morning gym session, a grocery store stop, then home. Wasn't able to go swimming today as it was rainy. This evening DH and I went to the country club for dinner -- seafood night. Food:

| Matty's (long overdue) Update - June 2007 | 30 Jun 2007 01:14 GMT | 2 |
"Always and forever, no matter what..." I saw this on a sign in a boutique this morning on my walk. Setbacks in life are inevitable, but if we are committed to change - these setbacks will always make us that much stronger or take us in a whole

| In-home exercise (and the smell) | 29 Jun 2007 12:30 GMT | 1 |
I want to start lifting weights at home but I don't want to live in a stinky house. There isn't a gym close enough for me to join. I live in a really small place, maybe 1100 sq ft or so. I don't want the house to smell like a gym. I'm a person who sweats a lot when working out. ...

| Plateaus | 28 Jun 2007 23:19 GMT | 6 |
Plateaus, an unexplained temporary hiatus in weight loss progress is a favorite topic among reducers. It can cause stress and worse plateaus can cause people to needlessly quit. Searching around I found a number of plateau stories. 3 things stood

A good day, but long. I ate breakfast and lunch at the conference with Tom, and spent some time looking at the exhibits. I also went for a swim in the morning. After lunch I went to the airport and hung out for a bit in the airline club. Then we got on the plane, only to

| 5 Tips on How To Stick To Your Exercise Routine | 28 Jun 2007 05:16 GMT | 2 |
1. Tell everyone you know that you're going to start exercising. You'll feel ashamed if people ask you how your exercise is going and you have to tell them you skimped. If you tell everyone you're going to exercise, they'll unconsciously be watching you to see if your body

| A Nice Quotation About Changing One's Life | 28 Jun 2007 02:33 GMT | 4 |
I'm here in Minneapolis and have just checked in for the Life Time Fitness conference. The welcome letter has a quotation I like at the top, from James Belasco's Flight of the Buffalo: "Change is hard because people overestimate the value of what they have and

Had an excellent day at the conference -- and a planned diet splurge day, after a week of very moderate eating. My presentation/interview session went extremely well, I think. I got really a lot of compliments afterward. And they gave me a great goodie bag with some

Hey all... I have a lot of stubborn fat in my belly, and I have a friend who recently used a body wrap, and lost some serious weight from her mid section and legs. I'm still a bit skeptical that the weight loss is
