Looking for advice on low carb shake17 Aug 2007 21:42 GMT8
Over the past 3-4 years I have observed a low carb diet to control my
weight.  One thing I have grown especially fond of is a shake with
protein powder.  I have found that frozen bananas make this a
wonderful shake.  It ends up being thick almost as if it is filled

I often have to stay up late to study, and I just eat and eat and
eat.  Does anyone have any ideas on how I can cure this habit?  Other
things to do?  Mantras to repeat?
OATMEAL DOESN’T HAVE TO TASTE BLAND17 Aug 2007 02:20 GMT35
Dieters don’t put sugar or salt in oatmeal and it is pretty unpalatable
like that. I’ve hit on the right combination though and it now tastes
great. Not rocket science, I know – but I thought I would share it anyway.
I use ½ a cup of Quaker Oats, a dash of AlsoSalt (potassium) and ...

Emotionally attached to food15 Aug 2007 23:13 GMT50
I eat too much. I like eating, shopping and thinking about food, but I don't
like being fat. I can't imagine life without excessive eating. I've dieted
before and exercised to lose weight, but because I love to eat and all that
goes with it, I end up gaining it back. If I wasn't ...
A bulemic's dream device15 Aug 2007 20:36 GMT6
Why couldn't this sort of thing be invented?
A way to eat food and then suck it out either in stomach pump sort of way or
some sort of implanted tube drain. They give people colostomy's. The problem
with throwing up is that stomach acid erodes structures that shouldn't come

what happens to calories?14 Aug 2007 17:51 GMT8
I curious...what exactly happens to a colorie when you 'burn' it? In
other words, where does it go, how and when does it leave your body?
If you burned 3500 colories, say on some exercise machine, and then
went to weigh yourself, would you be a pound lighter than you were
Top 10 diet & Nutrition Myths13 Aug 2007 23:42 GMT4
1. Sugar Causes Diabetes
The most common nutrition myth is probably the misconception that sugar
causes diabetes. If you have diabetes, you do need to watch your sugar and
carbohydrate intake, with the help of your Registered Dietitian, to properly
satisfied vs. full vs. stuffed13 Aug 2007 18:46 GMT11
There doesn't seem to be much of a difference for me, and I'm wondering if
somebody can shed a little light on this, by definition, by the way eating a
certain amount makes you feel, etc.

Breaking Points11 Aug 2007 05:23 GMT3
Over the years of the yo-yo thing, I've found a couple of weights that just
seem to be hard to break though. For me, they are 265, 245 and 238. These
have always seemed to be rough spots. I'm trying to break through 245 one
right now, in fact. I'm wondering if anybody else has ...

This morning we had breakfast at a diner in Carlisle (where we'd spent
last night with my MIL), then drove all day -- ~450 miles.  We're in
Dundee, MI -- a ways south of Ann Arbor.  We had lunch on the road,
and ate dinner tonight in the cafe in a Cabelas store.  Cabelas is a
